The silks of yellow and black quarters carried by winning jockey Sebastian Galea were owned by the late Mr Don Storey, a popular owner, breeder and administrator.

Mr Storey was a Sydney Turf Club member in 1960, served on the committee from 1970 to 2001 and spent time as Vice-Chairman during that period.

He owned such greats as Been There who was runner-up in the 1983 Golden Slipper to Sir Dapper and the flying machine Rain Affair who won 12 races and $1.4 million in prizemoney.

The family carries on the tradition with the winning owners being Mark Storey, Paige Storey, Chelsea Storey, Sarah Storey and Troy Lacey.

Hiraishin ($6) went on to score by half a length from Toulon Factor (Arthur Pollock, $9) and Exsensible (Todd Bailey, $3.50 favourite).

The next chance to earn points will be at MALLAWA PICNICS on Saturday (8th June).
