Working in Hot Weather

Working in hot weather and/or extreme heat can impact people working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

PCBU’s must manage the risks of sun-related disease and injury, including by:

  • working indoors (where possible)
  • scheduling work during off-peak temperature hours or shorter shifts with frequent rest breaks
  • providing shade and shelter, and
  • using sun protective clothing, hats, sunglasses and sunscreen.
